Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as our Housing Management Coordinator. We support our brilliant customers who have drug and alcohol addictions, mental health issues and are at risk of homelessness.

They live in a mix of shared and self-contained properties within Hampshire. Our properties range from being supported by 24-hour support services to appointment-based support to external agencies only. This ensures that all customers are ready for independent living at the end of their time with us.

You’ll be our Housing and Property Guru! Focussing on tenancy support, you’ll provide a housing management service to our customers, supporting them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also help our customers with their housing benefit claims and make sure that these are received on their rent account.

As our Housing Management Coordinator, you’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly. You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

Be yourself at Home

Home Group is committed to tackling prejudice and discrimination, not just for our customers, but for our colleagues too! We’re super proud of our internal Diversity Networks and allies (Multicultural, LGBTQIA+ and Disability) which support colleagues from different backgrounds to be their true selves. We recognise and celebrate our differences, together we make Home Group a great place to work!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

You’ll have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans and working collaboratively.

As our Housing Management Coordinator, you’re experienced in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties. You know all about re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed.

You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it’s really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

It would be amazing if you’ve had a job in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community-based job, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

When you join as a Housing Management Coordinator, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

Working hours

You’ll work Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm.

We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About our team

You’ll work alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Our manager is Carley who has been around for over 10 years so is here for all your questions and training needs. There are 6 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Lara has been with the organisation for many years now, so there’s not a lot she does not know. She is our go to rent account colleague. Her knowledge of our systems is a joy to behold.

Sherene has worked here for a few years and is the one you want when you need a helping hand with the legal stuff. She is also handy with a paint brush.

Dominique is our newbie, but don’t let that fool you. She has joined the team with the biggest barrel of enthusiasm I have ever seen. Her thirst for knowledge is joyful.

Noel and Mike are our extremely talented and innovative handymen. Noel has been with us for 5 years and Mike for a few months. They are vital members of the team, who ensure all customer repairs are carried out quickly and professionally. They also support the whole team (including management) during difficult times.
