Our client is a manufacturer, innovator and wholesaler of new generation nicotine products and flavourings, including liquids and powders. Their goal is to accelerate the world’s transition to safer nicotine containing products through unique flavour innovation.
Manchester based our client is made up of several companies including e-liquid & flavour manufacturing, as well as next generation nicotine deliver products such has nicotine pouches. The business was started 12 months ago and has already grown to over 50 members of staff, with plans for further expansion.
About the Role
We need our warehouses to be a well-oiled machine, driven by a customer-centric mentality. To deliver on our promise to consumers, we count on exceptionally talented, bright, and committed people. Currently, we’re seeking a warehouse manager to join our team and manage operations within our Manchester based Warehouse and manufacturing facility. This professional multitasker will manage and oversee the receiving, handling, storing, picking, and packing activities within the warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. The ideal candidate is exceptionally detail oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time. You must achieve inventory accuracy, coordinate orders, and track shipping times, ultimately overseeing the fulfilment of thousands of product orders every year.
Main Responsibilities:
Ensure the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by supervising, organising, directing, and training warehouse employees and establishing, monitoring, and managing operation goals
Develop warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation, inventory management, gate processes, and shipping
Train and manage a warehouse team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
Oversee daily operations, while controlling and managing inventory and logistics
Review and prepare workflow, manning and space requirements, equipment layout, and action plans while ensuring productivity, quality and customer service standards are met
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations
Supervise daily activities of the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, floor productivity, shipping, and customer service
Schedule and oversee warehouse team to meet the demands of the business, and manage the flow and quality of work to maximise efficiency and minimize overtime
Inspect equipment, tools, and machinery regularly, and oversee general maintenance as needed
Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyse, and develop actionable plans for productivity and loss prevention
Oversee and manage logistics regarding transportation of products to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and air partners to ensure efficient delivery of packages
Resource management/Sickness Holidays/Overtime management/Liaising with temp agency via dedicated POC.
Arrange over time and appropriate supervision to complete assignment/projects to deadline schedule
Liaise with Training Lead and QC to ensure all staff have correct PPE and are trained to a competent level.
Specific Objectives and KPI’s:
Ensure all Finished Product is recorded on the system and put away
Ensure all products required for trade are picked with 100 percent accuracy and delivered to Trade Team
Assist Stock Control Team to achieve Zero Out of Stocks across all products and sundry items.
Ensure orders on Ecom are monitored, picked, and dispatched within agreed lead team with 99.9 percent accuracy.

Knowledge, qualifications and experience
Ability to lead by example whilst gaining respect from their team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Highly organised and motivated
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling a wide variety of tasks at the same time whilst working cross functionally and collaboratively with other team leaders
Knowledge of key Quality standards and lean manufacturing techniques
Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements
Educated to GCSE level
Team Leader experience – 2 years minimum
Manufacturing experience – preferred
Decision Making:
Resourcing for the respective departments i.e. staffing
Decide if something presents a Health and Safety or Quality risk therefore stopping a process / machine if required.
